TRIALS & TRIBULATIONS - MY WEBSITE JOURNEY

Creating a website is exciting’ at times’, but it definitely has its challenges. I am so appreciative of what I have learned thus far because I don't believe I would have taken the time to become knowledgeable in this area. I have never watched so many videos and tutorials in all my life. When I'm learning something for the first time, I need clear precise instructions. I was following along closely in the first video, and it went so smoothly it was unreal… too smoothly. When the second video starts, the instructor opened the folder and said ‘this is what should be in your root folder * Wait... there was something in there that wasn't in the closing video. She said you should have a images folder. I didn't have an images folder and didn't have any images on my pc. That was the beginning. Every time I thought I was “in a grove “reality came along and snatched me right back into the present. If you look up the word frustration in the dictionary, you will probably see my picture. If you don't see my picture chance are you encountered a broken link, the image didn't load, or there is an issue with the code, lol!

First, I had to get past the ‘how is this free’, I mean I'm used to paying for this much activity. I had to put away my concepts and opinions and jump into it. There are a few things I came to know:

Trying to design a website. Dreamweaver is not for the faint of heart. Why can't I just move this here, or why can't this fit here. I altered my vision many, many, many times.  I'm sure the majority of my issues came from ignorance. Somebody somewhere said ignorance is bliss. Obviously, they're using WIX lol!

One issue I had was with the locked area. Don't laugh, I sure I can't be the only one. How many times can you click on an area, and nothing happens, before you realize… nothing is going to happen. Another issue was saving my work, or the fear of saving my work. If I save it and I've made a massive error, then what.  After uploading my work to the instructor, when she gave it back and I downloaded it, I didn't necessarily know how to implement those changes. Do I delete my other folder, I didn't know.   I am most appreciative of is the back button.  We are best friends, and it never disappoints….

So, while this has been and is still a challenge for me, I can go out on a limb and say I am, and I have given it my all.  I'm not looking for all of those high achievement words like amazing, extraordinary and outstanding. I'll gladly pick from the low hanging fruit LIKE proud, overjoyed and pleased, because I  am making leaps and bounds. If it wasn't for the fact and it must have been a premonition. I would be running to add this to my resume
